I took a bit of a road trip, to see the infamous cherry blossoms. They were great. Tons of other stuff happened last week, but for now, this is all the news you need to know from me:

How High-Point looks to expand its brand and resources beyond the twice-yearly furniture market, which starts its spring version this week.

Now that speculation around one particular presidential candidate has been confirmed, more speculative races, this time for the North Carolina governor’s race in 2016.

Major changes are coming to the Rockingham County School system, namely a redistricting and some school closings.

The City of Gastonia is having issues with fulfilling their worker’s compensation claims. Meanwhile, a small dispute has grown between the number of workplace deaths reported statewide, due to a change in how they are classified.

Thanks to a grant from the U.S. Air Force, NC A&T University will be home to a major research center for unmanned drones. Meanwhile, the plans for a new or renovated Dean Smith Center at UNC-Chapel Hill are in place, but no date has been set for construction.

At the General Assembly: This new House bill will allow for those who are terminally ill to voluntarily end their lives.

Map Forsyth, the city-county initiative to produce maps of different aspects of life in the county, is up for a funding renewal.
