Public hearings have started, for water quality certifications, related to proposed reuse of coal ash on several Central North Carolina sites.

The Sanderson Farms poultry plant will be built in Robeson County.

Yesterday at the General Assembly: the Senate supported the House’s move to change the fracking regulations; a bill was introduced in the Senate to make a misdemeanor charge the failure to put child-resistant packaging on e-cigarettes; and a House bill introduced that will allow more health facilities to be built, without being certified as “in need”.

Asheville will get its own trampoline park soon.

The Asheville monument slated for repair is also controversial, due to its honoree’s history as a slave owner.
